Dr. Joanna Yu graduated with the highest honor from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and completed her orthodontic residency in 2003. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and Maine Dental Association.

Dr. Yu was born in China and grew up in Portland, Oregon. She received her biology degree from Northwestern University in Illinois. Prior to becoming an orthodontist, she worked as a general dentist at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Joanna married dental school classmate, Alex, who is a general dentist practicing in South Portland. They reside in Falmouth. Joanna enjoys cooking, traveling and Pilates exercise.
